The Norway of the Year

By Eric Hill • Nov 26th, 2009 • Category: Feature Post

“November always seemed to me the Norway of the year.”
-   Emily Dickinson

Things I’ve learned since October, which saw our first round of unsolicited creative posts:

(1) People around me seem to be either over- or under- medicated.

(2) Make triple sure of spelling before you send an article in to print… especially if the word in doubt is an interviewee’s name.

(3) Even when nights are more than 14 hours long you can still sleep too little.

(4) Wordpress is no place to try and do fancy indentation for poetry.

Once you look past that it’s easy to enjoy these three fine pieces that had been sitting and waiting in a special e-mail folder until just… this… moment.

So peel open one of those chocolate oranges that were probably left over from last holiday’s overstock, turn the heater under your computer desk up a notch and enjoy.
